Sunitha CWC Career Journey

Beginning as a Dancer

Sunitha’s professional journey began with dance rather than mainstream acting, and this distinction is important for understanding her later popularity. Her early exposure to reality television gave her the opportunity to demonstrate stage confidence, physical expression and performance discipline. She reportedly appeared on Zee TV’s Dance India Dance in 2009 and reached the runner-up position, an experience that helped introduce her to competitive reality television. She subsequently became involved with Star Vijay’s Jodi Number One, a programme that played a major role in introducing her to Tamil audiences.

Rise Through Jodi Number One

Jodi Number One became an important stepping stone in Sunitha’s Tamil television career. She participated in multiple seasons and developed recognition through dance performances. Sources differ in their descriptions of the exact season numbering and placement, but they consistently identify Jodi Number One as one of the programmes that established her in Tamil entertainment. Her continued appearances demonstrated that she was not merely a one-time reality-show contestant but a performer capable of returning to television and maintaining audience interest.

Entry Into Tamil Cinema

Sunitha subsequently expanded from television into films. Her film career includes an appearance in the Tamil film 3, followed by a role in Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 3. She later appeared in Naai Sekar. These roles helped broaden her portfolio, although television and reality programming remained the areas in which she developed her strongest public identity. Her transition from dancer to actress also illustrates the flexibility required of performers working in the South Indian entertainment industry.

Cooku with Comali Breakthrough

The biggest transformation in Sunitha’s popularity came through Cooku with Comali. Her comic reactions, energetic interaction with cooks and other comalis, dance skills and ability to create spontaneous entertainment made her particularly memorable. She participated in multiple seasons, including the second season and later seasons, and her association with the programme helped turn her from a recognised dancer into a widely followed Tamil television personality. The programme became an especially important part of her brand because it allowed viewers to see her personality rather than simply judging her on dance or acting performance.

Comedy Raja Kalakkal Rani

In 2021, Sunitha also appeared in Comedy Raja Kalakkal Rani, where she teamed with TSK. The programme premiered on Star Vijay in June 2021 and concluded in November 2021. Sunitha and TSK won the competition, giving her another significant reality-television achievement beyond dance and cooking-comedy programming. The victory reinforced her ability to adapt to different entertainment formats and strengthened her association with Vijay TV.

Bigg Boss Tamil 8

Sunitha entered Bigg Boss Tamil 8 in October 2024 as a contestant, bringing considerable reality-TV experience into one of Tamil television’s most closely followed programmes. During the launch, her journey from dancing to Cooku with Comali and then Bigg Boss was highlighted, and she was introduced as a performer known for dance, Tamil-speaking ability, poetry and singing. Her stay ended in November 2024 when she became the fourth contestant to be eliminated from the season.

Cooku with Comali 7 and Recent Television Work

The latest search results available in 2026 also associate Sunitha with Cooku with Comali 7, which premiered on Star Vijay on April 4, 2026. The season’s published contestant information lists her among the main comalis. This continued association is significant because it shows that Cooku with Comali remains one of the central programmes in her television career even after her Bigg Boss Tamil appearance.
